Felley Priory Garden Tel: (01773) 810230, Fax: (01773) 580440, Nottinghamshire, NG16 5FL Felley Priory was founded in 1156 and dissolved by Henry VIII in 1536. A new smaller house was built in 1557 and added to in 1886. Work on the garden began in 1976 when hedges were planted and herbaceous borders started. There are also pergolas and knot gardens, a garden of old-fashioned roses and a medieval garden. There are many uncommon trees and shrubs to be discovered. In the nursery all plants and shrubs can be seen in the garden, advice is always available. .... |
