Medieval tower, at 212 ft, the second highest church tower in England - open for groups by arrangement and to the public on Tower open days (details from the Cathedral office). Superb elegant white and gold early 18thC classical nave by James Gibbs. Features of interest include world famous wrought iron screen by Robert Bakewell, Bess of Hardwick's memorial and St Katharine's Chapel. St Mary's Chapel on the Bridge, one of only 6 still in use, is 5 minutes walk and open Tuesday and Saturday 1400-1600. Cathedral Centre, with Coffee & Gift Shop and exhibitions.....
